History
The property has an interesting history as it is listed as one of the last remaining “Mogul Mansions” in Lake county. The house was built in the 1920’s as a summer residence for Mildred Peacock Haerther, daughter of Emila Lehmann and her husband Charles Peacock son of the founder of Peacock Jewelers’ of Chicago. In 1970, this country retreat was bought from the Haerthers by the Murphy family for their personal enjoyment. At that time, Mr. Murphy named the property Tir Na Nog “Land of the Young” for it’s rejuvenating qualities.

No detail has been overlooked in the renovation of
Tir Na Nog. From treasured family antiques to state-of-the-art appliances, from the well-manicured lawns to the marble crest that greets the guests upon arrival in the main foyer. Tir Na Nog combines classic European and American architecture with every modern convenience imaginable.
